5 Summer Feng Shui Essentials
Happy Summer!
Here are some key pieces that I used for a beach house we recently designed for clients on the Cape in Massachusetts. By bringing in furniture and accessories that represent the 5 elements of Feng Shui (fire, earth, metal, wood and water), and placing them in the correct part of the house, this family’s vacation home is now a true powerhouse!
(Check back soon for pictures from the photo shoot of the house.)
1. Red Chairs for FIRE: Red represents FIRE element in Feng Shui, associated with fame, romance, and abundance. I used these beautiful barstools and chairs from Serena and Lily in the kitchen:
2. Seashell light fixture for EARTH: Shells represent EARTH element, associated with peace, security, and strong relationships. In the living room I hung this fabulous fixture from Curry and Company:
3. Metal lotus lamp for METAL: METAL strengthens health and removes obstacles. I placed this fixture from Jonathan Adler in a bedroom:
4. Aqua bench for WATER: Blue tones represent WATER and invites abundance into the home. Near the front door I added this turquoise bench from Grandin Road, along with a entry rug in several shades of blue:
5. Green rug for WOOD: WOOD element strengthens health and vitality, and can be represented by plants or the color green. I used this fun rug by Thom Falicia for Safvania in the master bedroom. It has soft green tones and a great leopard pattern.
Soak up the sun and good vibes this summer!
